Ayran 4 servings or 1L
Mix well with a kitchen blender or just a tablespoon (or whisk).
– Natural 500g yogurt(homemade or not)
– 2-3 cups of cold water (this may vary on hot days as more water feels better)
– 1 pinch of sea salt (or other salt) to taste
Optional ingredients: a handful of ice cubes, finely chopped mint, finely chopped cucumber, and a pinch of black pepper.
Add natural yogurt, cold water, sea salt, and any optional ingredients of your choice to a blender. Stir until the ingredients are combined and the drink is frothy. This will take approximately 10-20 seconds. Serve chilled. If you don’t have a blender or similar equipment, put all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well for a few minutes.
Use soda water instead of still water for better lathering after blending Ayran. This adds a little tingle to every sip.
Adding finely chopped cucumber, mint, or crushed thyme will further enhance the flavor.
To make ice crunch, add some ice cubes before blending.
Sprinkle with coarsely ground black pepper for a spicy accent.
